Through a simple, non-invasive hair-follicle collection, Park Avenue Dermatology will isolate and cryogenically preserve your stem cells. From these stored cells, Acorn creates a personalized secretome, a concentrated serum containing growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles (exosomes) that help repair and rejuvenate skin at the cellular level.
This biologically active secretome will be used in-office at Park Ave. Derm. to amplify the benefits of our advanced aesthetic and resurfacing treatments.
How It Works
1. Simple In-Office Collection
During a quick visit, we collect a small sample of hair follicles—typically from the back of the scalp. The process requires no anesthesia and takes only 10-15 minutes. During the procedure you will experience slight discomfort as we collect your hair follicle samples.
2. Processing & Cryogenic Storage
Your follicles are then sent to Acorn’s state-of-the-art laboratory, where stem cells are isolated, tested for viability, and cryogenically stored at ultra-low temperatures to preserve their regenerative potential indefinitely. These stem cells may be held in storage or then used as part of your aesthetic plan at Park Ave. Derm.
3. Secretome Creation (45–60 Days)
When you’re ready to begin treatment, Acorn produces a custom secretome derived from your banked cells. The process typically takes 45 to 60 days, after which the personalized formulation is ready for in-office use at Park Ave Derm.
4. Integration with Regenerative Procedures
Your secretome can be integrated into procedures such as laser resurfacing, microneedling, or hair restoration to supercharge results, enhancing collagen stimulation, tissue renewal, hair growth and overall recovery time.

Acorn Stem Cell Banking FAQs in NYC
The term “autologous” refers to biological material sourced from your own body. Acorn creates a customized secretome product using stem cells harvested directly from your hair follicles.
