A Conversation With
Dr. Glodny
My initial interest in science and math led me to a career in basic science research. However, after several years focusing on immunotherapy research, I realized I craved consistent human interaction. I find fulfillment in helping patients achieve their quality-of-life goals, which is what drew me to medicine, particularly dermatology.
Our mission is to deliver exceptional care in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We prioritize spending quality time with our patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued. By combining our personalized approach with state-of-the-art technologies, we provide unparalleled care for both body and mind. We embrace diversity at Park Avenue Dermatology, welcoming patients of all ages, backgrounds, and identities, and we are equipped to care for families across generations.
I take a subtle yet impactful approach to cosmetic treatments. At Park Ave Derm, our goal is to enhance our patients’ natural beauty and restore youthful skin texture and volume. We encourage patients to bring in old photos as a reference for their desired outcomes. We want the results to be noticeable yet natural, so that friends and family perceive them as looking refreshed and well-rested without realizing any cosmetic work has been done. This often involves a multifaceted approach, utilizing toxins, dermal fillers, lasers, medical-grade skincare, and skin-tightening technologies to address our patients’ most pressing concerns.
We also emphasize prevention and maintenance in our treatment approach, recommending consistent skincare routines, including sunscreen use and healthy lifestyle habits. This holistic approach is crucial for achieving and maintaining a naturally vibrant appearance, enhancing the results of our procedural treatments.
I actually wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon for my entire training up until the last year of medical school. Thankfully, I found dermatology and fell in love.
I approach medicine and healing people as an “A to Z” type of thing. Mind and body are inextricably connected. I get involved with my patients and try to help in any way I can. Whether it’s skincare, a cosmetic procedure, or restaurant recommendations, I will bend over backwards to help.
Each time I help to heal a patient, I feel as though I have given them an invaluable gift of healthy skin and quality of life. There is no better feeling than giving someone a gift they truly appreciate.
Many, many methods when I think about the entire journey. I think one of my best qualities when I was in training was my ability to study and work long hours. I can focus for a long time without losing focus. Also, I think if you are goal oriented you will do well becoming a doctor. After each accomplishment, I would quickly focus on my next obstacle and spend only a short time enjoying my achievement.
As a new dad, I try and spend any time not working with my family. I go to the gym when I find time, but it is becoming more and more difficult. We also have 3 dogs who we love dearly. I also am a podcast fiend. I love information.
New York City gave me that ability to escape suburbia and see how diverse the world really was. You can be the happiest version of whoever you were born to be in New York. This sadly is not the case in many other parts of the world and even the country. As a gay man, this is precious to me.
Hard working, inquisitive and thankful.
In general I do not think I have the classic one mentor mentee type of relationship with someone. Instead I like to draw inspiration from my peers, friends, and family that have been able to achieve impressive feats. Being able to find inspiration from high achieving people and learning from them has been an invaluable party to my success. I am a firm believer in surrounding yourself with amazing people. They will motivate you to be the best that you can be.
I think as a practice we do our very best to make each and every patient feel like part of the Park Ave Derm family. We really try to get to know them on a level that I do not think many practices do. I love speaking to people and learning about their life story. I strive to know our patient’s lives and personalities as well as their skin.
