What is TrapTox?

With our fast-paced and often stressful lives in New York City, you may be looking for ways to alleviate tension especially in your neck and shoulder areas. Day after day if these areas remain tense you also may notice that your traps (trapezius muscle) have become thicker and larger in size leading to a more masculine and rigid appearance. Regardless if its stress or simply genetics there is a new solution to help minimize tension and improve appearance of your neck and shoulder area called TrapTox. At Park Ave Derm we are using botox and other toxins to treat our patients in a daily basis.

While most people are familiar with Botox as a cosmetic treatment for wrinkles, a new application of the neurotoxin called Trapezius Botox has emerged to address muscular tension in the trapezius muscle. When injected, the muscles in the shoulders (the trapizeus muscles ) can relax, giving you not only a relaxed look but also providing much needed relief. Your appearance will be less bulky and thought of as more feminine in most cases.

How Does TrapTox work?

It works by relaxing the trapezius muscle. When relaxed the muscle becomes less bulky giving a less bulky more feminine appearance. People will sometimes refer to this as the hunchback look and with Traptox, no longer will you suffer an unsightly bulge in your neck.

What can you expect during your Traptox Treatment?

During your traptox treatment you will experience small minimally invasive and almost painless injections along your neck and muscle. It’s always important to make sure to tell your dermatologist if you are experiencing more than just minor discomfort after your procedure.

What are the results/ How long does it take to see results?

You should see your results in about 1-2 weeks. At that time you should note that there is less spasming in your neck area and that your neck contour is slighter and less thick. Sometimes patients will note that their neck flexibility is improved and even their sleep is more restful.

At Park Avenue Dermatology, we offer this treatment for patient with chronic neck pain and aesthetic neck concerns on a daily basis.
