Treat Acne at the Source
AviClear uses the power of laser light to selectively target and suppress sebaceous glands, eliminating acne at the source without the need for prescription medications.
How Does Acne Form?
To understand how AviClear works, it’s important to understand how breakouts happen. Acne forms when sebum, the oily substance on your skin, combines with dead skin cells and clogs your pores.
Most acne treatments target other things that cause acne, but not the production of sebum.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Three, quick 30-minute treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
How Does It Feel?
AviClear is equipped with exclusive AviCool™ skin cooling and sensory controls that maintain our skin’s temperature during treatment for a more comfortable experience. During treatment, you may notice a slight snapping sensation. In clinical studies, patients tolerated the treatment well, without the need for pain mitigation or the need to stop the treatment session.
When Can I See Results?
87% of patients treated with AviClear saw at least half of their acne resolve at 6 months following treatment. And results may continue to improve with time — even several months after your treatment sessions are finished.
Is AviClear Safe?
AviClear is absolutely safe! Since it uses a highly innovative laser light wavelength to function, there is no need for harsh chemicals or unknown toxins. It’s perfectly suitable for all skin types, tones, and sensitivities. Though you may experience some redness or inflammation after your AviClear treatment sessions, those mild side effects will quickly fade.
What Aftercare Does AviClear Require?
Due to the nature of AviClear treatment, it will require some aftercare treatment. Predominantly, this will include limiting your exposure to direct sunlight for the following week or two. However, if you do intend to go outside, it is highly recommended that you apply sunscreen that is SPF 50 or above and reapply at least every 90 minutes. Depending on your unique case, there may be other recommendations for your aftercare, but that will all be discussed before and after your treatment here at Park Ave. Derm. That being said AviClear is a non-ablative laser, meaning downtime will be minimal to none at all.
