Cosmetic Concerns

Cosmetic concerns are variable from patient to patient. Everyone has an idea of what they might like to improve in their appearance. For this reason, we recommend the combination of treatments that is right for you.

Our approach is to identify the individual problems which may lead to dissatisfaction with your appearance.

1. Volume Loss

This is a normal consequence of aging and is often more exaggerated in people who are physically fit and not overweight. Manifestations can be hollow cheeks and temples, prominent skin folds above and below the mouth, and a perception of jowls (often due to a loss of volume as well as laxity), among others. We are specialists in the administration of fillers to correct these issues. The choice of filling material is important. We will recommend what we think is best for you based on your present problem and your past experience.

The fillers we use are exclusively FDA-approved and include hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm®. The Restylane® family of fillers, and Belotero®. Sculptra®, Voluma™ and Radiesse® are used for addressing deeper loss of subcutaneous tissue.

2. Dynamic Lines

These are facial lines which are due to years of habitual muscular movement. Typical areas of involvement are the glabella (between the eyebrows), forehead, around the eyes, below the mouth, and some areas of the throat. Treating these lines is best accomplished non-surgically by BOTOX®, Dysport® or Xeomin®.

3. Surface Irregularities

Whether these are from pigmented spots, prominent blood vessels, keratoses, spider veins, or acne scarring we can address them by a variety of methods including laser and light-based treatments including IPL, Iriderm™ diode laser, infrared Smoothbeam™ Laser, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels. This includes problems on the hands, face, chest or virtually anywhere on the skin. We treat scars of all types with Resurfx® including stretch marks, acne scars, surgical and traumatic scars.

4. Skin Laxity

The effects of aging, sun exposure (even in the remote past), pregnancy, and weight loss can all lead to loose, "sagging" skin. Common areas for this to occur are the jawline, neck, around the mouth, eyelids, abdomen, arms, buttocks, knees, and thighs. Thermage is an exciting technique designed to address these issues, usually in a single session with improvement developing over 2-20 weeks. There is no downtime and the treatment requires no anesthesia we use the latest CPT technology.

5. Excess Hair

Laser hair removal on any body part is performed in our offices. Dark hair and light skin are features which give the best results, but progressive improvement in most patients is the rule. We use the latest Lumenis® Diode Laser, Duet, for small and large areas.
